EEFJE DE BRUIJN

Eefje founded Pilates Noord in 2018. Since October 2021, she has been the co-owner of the studio and the online Pilates platform Herewemove.com
together with Özlem . Eefje discovered the power of Pilates in 2006 while recovering from severe pelvic pain after her first childbirth. Through her own rehabilitation process, of which Pilates was an integral part, she learned to move better and her interest grew in delving deeper into the Pilates method and human anatomy, and she wanted to share this knowledge and experience.

Before Eefje became a Pilates instructor and studio owner, she worked for years as a freelance designer and illustrator; entrepreneurship runs in her blood.

Eefje has successfully completed the  Polestar® Pilates mat and Polestar® Pilates comprehensive education and is also a certified personal trainer (NASM CPT).

Eefje’s specializations are pre- and postnatal training, pelvic issues, hypermobility, training during and after menopause, and strength training. To this end, she has successfully completed, among others, The Menopause Movement Professional Development Training Program, The Pregnancy Pilates Impact Academy, and Rost Therapy Pelvic Pain During and After Pregnancy Program.

As an instructor, Eefje teaches you how to develop and improve healthy movement patterns and how to build mobility, stability, flexibility, and strength.

For Eefje, the combination of Pilates and strength training is the unique combination of conscious movement, getting to know your body better, and increasing your strength and endurance. It is important to take good care of your body. Pilates and strength training certainly contribute to staying mobile and strong well into old age.

Eefje teaches group classes on the mat and reformer, as well as private lessons, and is the point of contact for the studio. Check  the schedule to see when Eefje teaches or  send an email to check her availability for private lessons.

NOËLLE MOS

Pilates and Barre trainer Noëlle started ballet as a five-year-old girl. Dancing was something that belonged to her and something she couldn’t live without. Her hobby became her profession; after graduating as a Dancer from the Jazz program at the Amsterdam University of the Arts, Noëlle worked as a dancer and choreographer for several years. Then she embarked on a new path; she went to work in the hospitality industry and had two beautiful children. Working in hospitality was demanding and caused a lot of back problems. The Pilates classes she took during that time helped her get rid of her back pain.

In 2014, Noëlle came into contact with Barre training and began teaching as a Barre instructor. Barre training is derived from Pilates, yoga, and ballet; the perfect combination to develop a strong and balanced body. Passing on her own knowledge of movement gives her energy and immense satisfaction.

Noëlle successfully completed the Polestar® Pilates mat training in 2019, and later the Polestar Pilates Comprehensive education. The combination of Barre and Pilates is perfect, and for Noëlle, it is the challenge to continue developing as an instructor.

AURORA STOBBELAAR

Aurora grew up doing ballet, jazz and modern dance from an early age. At 13 she was diagnosed with scoliosis and started doing pilates as a way to manage pain and muscle imbalances within her body. Her enthusiasm for the effectiveness of pilates has continued to grow, leading her to become a BASI-trained pilates teacher. She’s passionate about guiding her clients through personalized, goal-oriented training sessions designed to build strength and flexibility.

Aurora teaches mat group classes, reformer group classes and privates at Pilates Noord. Her classes are in English.

MONICA BHAGWANDI

Monica started with pilates aiming to manage a sports knee injury. Impressed by the intelligence of the work, she began to see how the rehab of her knee injury had a direct correlation with strengthening the core.
Since then, Pilates has improved her own body awareness and has helped her with her chronic lower back pain management. Practicing pilates regularly contributed to moving more pain free.

This experience encouraged her to become a Pilates instructor herself. She enjoys sharing her passion to individuals who seek to improve their posture and strength. Growing older in a healthy way and keeping people independent as long as possible also has her strong interest.

Monica has worked and lived in Shanghai and Singapore and is now based back in her hometown Amsterdam.

She has completed the Polestar Pilates Studio Comprehensive education, a worldwide provider of rehabilitation-based Pilates. Next to this she finished continuing education courses such as Buff Bones by Rebekah Rotstein, Anatomy Trains by Thomas Myers and the Pelvic Floor Fascia Trainer Course by Erik Franklin. Monica is also a certified yoga instructor (Yoga Alliance 200 hours).

She speaks fluent Dutch, English and Mandarin. And teaches in Dutch and English.

Monica teaches reformer classes and privates at Pilates Noord.

STEFFIE DE VILDER

Steffie combines her creativity with a strong love for Pilates.

After her studies at the Rietveld Academy, she worked for years as a graphic designer and art director. A fractured vertebra and later a diagnosis of osteoporosis led her to Pilates in 2021. There, she discovered how powerful conscious, controlled movement can be for recovery. By rebuilding step by step, she eventually became stronger than before her accident.

With osteoporosis, not all exercises may be feasible; it requires patience. Pilates demonstrates how resilient the body can be when you work with precision and respect for your own limits.

The Polestar® Mat training gives her the opportunity to translate this experience into expert guidance. Mat Pilates focuses on the foundations of Pilates. Precisely because you work without equipment, the mat demands pure attention to technique, body awareness, and control. It is a form in which you can always return to the essence of movement.

In her classes, Steffie wants to place attention, technique, and fun at the center. It is special to see how people leave with more energy, confidence, and space in their bodies.

JORIJN VRIESENDORP

Jorijn Vriesendorp is a dance and Pilates instructor with a background as a professional dancer. She started pre-training in dance as a young girl and completed her education at the Academy for Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam. After this training, Jorijn moved to Australia to continue her dance education.

In 2009, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts in Melbourne, after which she worked internationally for a long time with a number of dance companies and choreographers.

In Australia in 2008, Jorijn first came into contact with Pilates; the classes helped her develop as a dancer. Particularly when she had to train to return to the stage after the birth of her two children, the Pilates classes had a major impact on regaining her strength, mobility, and stability. This inspired her to dive deeper into the world of Pilates and to start the Polestar Pilates Mat Teacher Training.

In addition to being a Pilates instructor, Jorijn is a certified Countertechnique teacher. She is interested in pre- and postnatal movement and is still active as a performer. In her class, Jorijn invites you to develop greater body awareness with an open mind and lots of fun.

MARGRIET WINDMILL

Margriet worked as a designer for many years, often sitting behind a computer and sewing machine, full of deadlines and stress. Fortunately, she was always able to make time to dance,
do Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi & Qigong, travel, and laugh.
When she lost her job, she threw herself wholeheartedly into the world of Pilates. The more she learned, the more she wanted to know, and the need arose to share this.
What started in 2016 with a short basic study of Pilates to deepen her understanding has grown into the Mat (2021) and Comprehensive training (2023) at Polestar®.
In addition, she regularly attends workshops and training sessions with inspiring teachers (including:
Chilates training at Debby Jenner’s Pilates Company, 2020, Yin Yoga
teacher training at Queno, and training to guide pregnant women).
Margriet teaches Pilates classes almost daily to groups of various levels and
provides training at companies.
In the classes, Margriet helps participants improve their posture and
make their bodies supple and strong, causing stress and pain to disappear.
By paying attention to breathing and focus, you create balance in your mind, in addition to strengthening and making your
body supple. It is beautiful to see participants in the classes
make themselves supple and stronger with nothing but attention and themselves.

Margriet works as a substitute teacher for Pilates Noord.

LENA HEUEL

Hey I am Lena! I grew up in Germany, in a small town close to Düsseldorf, now living in beautiful Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.

Pilates came into my life in the early ages, as my mother owns a studio herself in Germany; it took me a journey to the other side of the world to fell for the sport too.

I’ve always been a sport enthusiast, yet attended the academy at Pilates Bodymotion (Polestar oriented) only in 2018 and have elaborated on that since. For the past 2.5 years I’ve shared my practice online & offline in and around Rotterdam and my own online studio.

My passion is the combination of conscious movements with that little extra challenge to reflect on underlying muscles & patterns. In my classes I focus on correct anatomical alignment and mindful practice, including breathing techniques and body awareness.

Practice with me to build strength & mobility.

Lena currently works as sub teacher for Pilates Noord.
